Our Mission

The Eagle Academy Foundation develops and supports a network of all male, grades 6 through 12, college-preparatory schools in challenged, urban communities that educate and mentor young men into future leaders committed to excellence in character, scholastic achievement and community service, and to promote these principles nationally.

    On September 8, 2022, we will welcome students back to New York City public schools for the first day of the 2022-23 school year. We are so excited to begin this journey together. Over the course of the next year, we look forward to helping our City’s children learn and grow, academically and socially. The first step is ensuring that students and families have the tools they need for a strong start and continued success this school year.

    The platform provides access to your scholar’s attendance grades, including standardized test scores. Additionally you have the capability to update your scholar’s emergency contact information.

  • 2022–23 School Year Calendar

    This is the 2022–23 school year calendar for all 3K–12 NYCDOE public schools. If your child attends a private, parochial, charter school, NYCEEC Early Childhood Community-Based Organization or Family Childcare Program, please contact your child’s school for information about their calendar.

    Please note the following:

    • November 8, Election Day, is a non-attendance day for students. No in-person or remote instruction will be provided.
    • On “Snow days” or days when school buildings are closed due to an emergency, all students and families should plan on participating in remote learning.
    • Individual schools’ Parent-Teacher Conference dates might be different from the dates below. Your child’s teacher will work with you to schedule your conference.

  • Summer Rising

    Summer Rising is free and open to any NYC student currently in kindergarten through grade 8. Seats are limited, so we highly encourage families to apply early to secure a seat at their preferred location. Students who are required by their school to attend over the summer are guaranteed a spot. The program will begin July 5, and will run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the months of July and

    August. Students will be provided with free breakfast and lunch, with snacks available in the afternoon on request. Summer Rising will run for six weeks for all students, with a seventh week of enrichment for students in grades K–5. Learn more at nyc.gov/SummerRising.

    How to Apply

    Beginning on April 25, you can submit a Summer Rising application to enroll your child at nyc.gov/SummerRising. The application will ask for your student’s 9-digit ID number, which you can get from your school if you do not know it.

    You can apply to any Summer Rising site with available seats for your child’s grade level. You should apply as soon as possible to ensure your preferred placement!. Immediately after enrolling, you will receive an email confirming your spot. If enrolling multiple students, please note that you must submit each application for separately.

  • Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

    Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s most extensive youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experiences each summer. The application is due April 22nd, 2022. I encourage you to complete the application asap.
